July 4th Parade

Celebrate Independence Day in classic small-town style with Hendersonville’s annual 4th of July Parade! Enjoy festive floats, patriotic music, and community spirit as the parade marches down Main Street. Fun for all ages! The parade begins at 10:30am and the route is from Caswell Street to 6th Avenue.
Starting at 10am, there will be music at the Historic Courthouse and following the parade, around 11:30am, you can enjoy a refreshing treat at an ice cream social!
July 4th Downtown Celebration

Come out on July 4th for a family-friendly celebration of our nation’s birthday, which includes inflatables, kid’s games, and activities, food trucks, and 2 stages featuring live music. The evening will be capped-off with fireworks display that can be seen from either concert area. More info to come.

Ride and Ticket to the Tourists Baseball Games – Varying Dates through August 28th

Join as we travel to McCormick Field for a fun fabulous time cheering on our hometown baseball team, The Asheville Tourists. Why hassle with parking when you can leave the driving to us? Park your car at the Hendersonville Welcome Center and take the air conditioned bus to McCormick Field in Asheville. Pick up time is 5pm. Cost is only $35.00 per person for a box seat and transportation.

2025 Waverly Live – Varying dates through September

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join us at the front porch from May through September for live Americana music along with great southern fare and cold beverages. Music is free to enjoy and we will also be selling Waverly Smoked BBQ and beverages to enrich the experience (July 4th’s menu will feature cookout classics). All performances will be 6pm-8pm, except July 4th which will be 1pm-3pm.

Oklawaha and Lazr Luvr Annual Block Party- July 5th

Hiking Henderson County: Memminger Trail – July 11th

Henderson County Parks and Recreation is offering guided hiking opportunities. This month is Memminger Trail! Join and we safely explore, learn, and exercise! This is an inclusive program; however, the hikes will vary in difficulty. This is a FREE program, Registration Required.
Trailheads can be difficult to find. At 9am on the day of the community hike, participants will be asked to meet at: 708 S Grove Street Hendersonville, NC 28792
The group will then caravan to the trailhead! During the program we will discuss wildlife, hike etiquette and the use of mobile applications in remote settings. Please note that these programs are subject to weather. Call (828) 845-5780 the day of the hike if you are concerned the hike will be canceled.
Henderson County Tailgate Market – Saturdays through the Spring/Summer

Join us every Saturday, 8am to 12pm for the Henderson County Tailgate Market. We have local, organic and conventional produce, bedding plants, flowers, herbs, baked goods, canned goods for purchase.
We are located at 100 North King Street in Hendersonville in the Henderson County Building parking area (between First and Second Avenue).
29th Annual Chalk It Up – July 12th

“Chalk It Up!” began with 3 children drawing in front of their mother’s store. It has blossomed into one of the most beloved and endearing events that our town has to offer. It is a unique way to experience beautiful downtown Hendersonville, N.C. Every summer, 150 artists of all ages draw for prizes and fun in this great contest designed to promote Hendersonville as “a city with a heart for art”.
Flat Rock Playhouse Presents: Beautiful the Carole King Musical – Through July 5th

Step into the captivating world of “Beautiful,” a Tony Award-winning musical that tells the inspiring true story of legendary singer-songwriter Carole King. Journey through the life of this remarkable artist as she rises from a teenage girl with a passion for music to a groundbreaking icon whose songs have touched millions. Summer Day Camps at Kanuga – June 9th – July 25th

Kanuga is thrilled to announce the return of its Summer Day Camps for rising first through sixth graders, with five weeklong sessions planned for June and July 2025, at its Bob Campbell Youth Campus. Registration is now open.
In the serene mountains of Western North Carolina, campers will find fun and adventure in action-packed sessions staffed by well-trained, compassionate adults who specialize in keeping young children safe, entertained and engaged. Kanuga’s wooded campus offers children the opportunity to play, explore, swim in mountain lakes, hike to scenic vistas, paddle canoes, create arts and crafts and so much more.

Coon Dog Day Saluda – July 12th

Coon Dog Day is a beloved summer tradition in Saluda, North Carolina. The festival kicks off with a 5K Fun Run, followed by a bustling vendor market and a lively parade featuring floats, firetrucks, and plenty of dogs. Dog lovers can enjoy the “Every Dog’s a Star” show, a fun contest celebrating all breeds, as well as the AKC Registered Coon Hound Dog Show showcasing top hounds. The day also includes a firefighter agility contest, live music, and dancing, culminating in square dancing under the stars—a perfect mix of small-town charm, community spirit, and Southern tradition.
Rhythm & Brews – Florencia & The Feeling – July 17th

This concerts series brings together live music, a variety of food trucks, and locally crafted beer, wine and cider! These free concerts close part of South Main Street to make room for all the fun, as well as a children’s area with games and activities. Tickets and wristbands, for the purchase of beer, wine and hard cider, will be located at the Downtown Hendersonville tent.

Enjoy live music from The Big Throwback! These free outdoor concerts offer a diverse line-up of music from pop, oldies, rock, to contemporary music – there’s something for every musical taste! Concert organized by the Arts Council of Henderson County. Bring your chairs and enjoy some great live music.

Sign up today to secure your spot and celebrate miles, memories, and mountain views.
Gather your team of 2 or 3 and run an overall total of 20 miles in a 2-mile loop relay format. Prefer to participate on your own? Join in on the fun as an individual and take on a timed challenge! Complete as many laps of the 2-mile loop as you can and want to in 3 hours.
Harry Potter Trivia @ Trailside Brewing – July 31st

Walking Tour and Wine Tasting at Marked Tree Vineyard – Weekly Fridays-Sundays

Get your steps in with a guided walking tour and tasting! Enjoy a seasonal wine tasting as you stroll through the vines and get an exclusive sneak peek of the new production facility. Learn about the history of Marked Tree and how the vineyard transforms with the changing seasons. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and we’ll provide the open vistas! Every Friday from 4-7PM plan to collaborate with other musicians at Sideways Farm & Brewery in Etowah. Bring your instruments and voices and enjoy making music and networking with other artists, while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
