THE MAGIC OF ECO-PRINTING II – 2 DAY WORKSHOP WITH DIANE KUEHN

Students should have taken one of my previous workshops or be somewhat practiced in knowing how to properly roll a bundle.  Otherwise, I would recommend taking the one-day Introduction to the Magic of Eco-Printing course first.

This two-day workshop will take participants further in their eco printing journey. We will further unravel the magic of eco printing by adding tannins and iron to various parts of the bundles for different effects.

First, we will learn how to scour and mordant our fabrics for the best outcomes.  We will then make several samples showing the effects of different tannins on various fibers, with the introduction of blankets to the process.  This is the first part of learning how to add some soft and earthy colors to the background of your piece that can only be achieved with a natural dye process.  We will further explore how various types of leaves have different effects on cloth depending upon what you use with them.

Students will make many samples and at least 1-2  scarves during this workshop

$335.00 All fabric, blanket fabric, supplies, and equipment are included in the supply fee.

DATE:  JULY 19-20, 2025

TIME:  10 – 4:00

COST:  $335 INCLUDING SUPPLIES

LOCATION:  Gallery – 51 West Main St., Brevard, NC
