Foraging Tour with No Taste Like Home – July 1st – July 31st

This July, No Taste Like Home invites you to join their expert-led foraging tours through the Asheville area. Discover edible treasures like wild greens, berries, mushrooms, and more—some of which may be growing right in your own backyard. Participants can take their finds home or have them turned into a delicious appetizer at a local Asheville restaurant. Tours run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and are family-friendly.

Art in Bloom – June 19th – July 25th

This event features two gallery exhibits, live flower arrangements, and a local garden tour with working artists. This is a fantastic way of supporting art in our community. During the months of June and July there are a few different exhibits. These will all take place at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Each ticket you purchase supports local artists and creative opportunities in Western North Carolina.

Independence Block Party- July 4th, 5 – 10pm

Looking for a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July? Check out this free family-friendly festival featuring the high-flying Amazing Air Dogs and plenty of activities for all ages throughout the day. As evening falls, enjoy live music from The Pink Stones, along with a great selection of food and beverage vendors. The night wraps up with a spectacular fireworks show—the perfect finale to a festive celebration of community and independence. Definitely one to add to your holiday plans!

I Scream for Ice Cream! Kids/Families Painting Party – July 5th, 4 – 6pm

Looking for a fun, family-friendly activity this month? Check out this creative art class hosted by our friends Clay Sayre and Patricia Sweet! They’ll guide participants through painting vibrant acrylic pieces on square canvases, designed to come together as part of a community mural. It’s a great way to get creative and connect with others. Ages six and up are welcome, and kids under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Don’t forget to wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on!

Tomato Pop-Up at the Vineyard with Chefs Brooke & Mal – July 5th, 2 – 7pm

Looking for a delicious way to celebrate summer? Head out to Addison Farms Vineyard for a special tomato-inspired pop-up hosted by local chefs Brooke Adams and Mallory Foster! They’ll be serving up creative tomato-infused dishes—think smash burgers, sandwiches, and even desserts—all paired with live music by Falspring. It’s the perfect blend of local flavor, talent, and summer vibes. Don’t miss it!

Twilight in the Treetops Summer Night Climbs – June 7th – August 30th, 7:45 – 9:45pm

Celebrate the Summer with family and friends. Imagine climbing 40 feet in the air and zipping along a hang glider or a sky kayak in the largest adventure park in Western North Carolina. Then, as the sun starts to set, the challenges become illuminated with over 15,000 colored twinkle and laser lights. Five of the Adventure Park’s aerial trails become illuminated with all their leaves, cables, ropes and platforms.

This mystical climbing experience is offered Saturday Nights from June 7- August 30 and Thursday Nights from June 19-August 7 at 7:45 pm. The Twilight Climb is a great way to celebrate with friends and family. It can also be a fun way to have a date!

North Asheville Tailgate Market – Saturdays 8am -12pm

This wonderful market takes place on Saturdays at the UNC’s Asheville Campus. With all types of vendors, it’s a wonderful way to start your weekend.  Shop from a full range of local, sustainably produced produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, breads, honey, plants, prepared foods, crafts and more. With a roster of over 120 vendors, shop from 70+ vendors weekly. Voted #1 Farmers Market in WNC for 14 years running! Accepting SNAP/EBT, Produce Prescriptions, cash, credit, and debit. Simply Charmed Drop-In Jewelry Workshop – May 27th – July 30th, 11am – 3pm

**Show up at Ignite Jewelry Studios anytime between 11am and 3pm to make one of these charms!

This is the perfect way to spend a part of your day while visiting our downtown Asheville metalsmithing studio and gallery. Come stamp and hammer a charm to your liking! Choose from more than 60 styles of metal stamps and a variety of jewelers hammers to complete your charm. You will start with a rectangular brass base, (or upgrade to sterling silver in a variety of shapes and styles) then choose your silver accent piece, and finally a gemstone of choice. After a quick demo by the instructor you can spend the next hour to complete your masterpiece.

Our magnetic tumbler will polish your piece to perfection and you have an option of some finishing patinas as well. Upgrade to earrings, make additional pendants for friends etc.

$45 Base Price includes a brass charm and base metal chain. 

Tuesday Trivia Nights – Unleash your Dog & Brain Power – June – November, 6-8pm

Join us every Tuesday night at Wagbar for a howling good time with our Weekly Trivia Night – the ultimate test of your knowledge and wit! Whether you’re a trivia novice or a quiz master, gather your friends, form a team, and get ready for an evening filled with challenging questions, laughter, and the chance to win some amazing prizes.

Event Highlights: Entry is FREE for Humans and Dogs After 5 PM: That’s right, humans enter for free, and dogs can join the fun without a day pass or membership after 5 PM! All dogs must have proof of vaccinations and be spayed/neutered to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.

Asheville Tourists Baseball – Through August 26th, 6:35-10pm

Enjoy a local baseball game right in Asheville during these warmer months. This is a family friendly event or a great date night opportunity. The stadium offers food and drink, as well as merchandise. The doors open at 5:30pm and the first pitch is at 6:35pm.

The Big Crafty – July 12th – 13th, 12-6pm

Looking for something fun this weekend? The Big Crafty returns July 12–13 from 12–6 p.m. at the ExploreAsheville.com Arena at Harrah’s Cherokee Center. Entry is $10 on Saturday and free on Sunday.

This popular event showcases local artists and makers with ceramics, jewelry, prints, woodwork, and more. Voted Best Arts/Crafts Fair by Mountain Xpress readers every year since 2008, The Big Crafty is a celebration of creativity in all its forms.

Summer 1- on- 1 Pottery Lessons – July through September 21st

Looking for a creative weekend activity this summer? Check out the 1-on-1 Pottery Lessons happening every Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM!

This hands-on experience offers private 30-minute sessions where you can make your own pottery piece with guidance from an instructor. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows. After your session, the studio team will handle the firing process and notify you when your creation is ready for pickup or shipping (typically a few weeks later).

Lessons are $75 per person per 30-minute session, with discounts for extended time or multiple participants. Whether you’re going solo or with friends and family, it’s a fun and relaxing way to try something new this summer!

Bachata Dance Lesson and Social! Every Thursday w/ Bachata AVL – Through November 20th

Want to learn Bachata? Join Urban Orchard Cider Company every thursday. Dance lesson start at 8:30pm, followed by social time at 9:15pm. Live DJ Bachata nights, combined with some Cha Cha, Cumbia, Merengue and Salsa with Bachata. The $10 entry includes the class and there are cocktails, cider, wine, local beer on draft, domestics in can, and N/A beverages.
