Ride and Ticket to the Tourists Baseball Games – Varying Dates through August 28th

Join as we travel to McCormick Field for a fun fabulous time cheering on our hometown baseball team, The Asheville Tourists. Why hassle with parking when you can leave the driving to us? Park your car at the Hendersonville Welcome Center and take the air conditioned bus to McCormick Field in Asheville. Pick up time is 5pm. Cost is only $35.00 per person for a box seat and transportation.

Hiking Henderson County – Bell Trail – June 6th

Henderson County Parks and Recreation is offering guided hiking opportunities. This month is Bell Trail! Join and we safely explore, learn, and exercise! This is an inclusive program; however, the hikes will vary in difficulty. This is a FREE program, Registration Required.
Trailheads can be difficult to find. At 9am on the day of the community hike, participants will be asked to meet at: 708 S Grove Street Hendersonville, NC 28792
The group will then caravan to the trailhead! During the program we will discuss wildlife, hike etiquette and the use of mobile applications in remote settings. Please note that these programs are subject to weather. Call (828) 845-5780 the day of the hike if you are concerned the hike will be canceled.

Summer Day Camps at Kanuga – June 9th – July 25th

Kanuga is thrilled to announce the return of its Summer Day Camps for rising first through sixth graders, with five weeklong sessions planned for June and July 2025, at its Bob Campbell Youth Campus. Registration is now open.
In the serene mountains of Western North Carolina, campers will find fun and adventure in action-packed sessions staffed by well-trained, compassionate adults who specialize in keeping young children safe, entertained and engaged. Kanuga’s wooded campus offers children the opportunity to play, explore, swim in mountain lakes, hike to scenic vistas, paddle canoes, create arts and crafts and so much more.

The Bark & Bolt Race – June 14th

Join us for the Bark and Bolt race at Patton Park in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on June 14 at 8am. This race is a heartwarming event that brings together both paws and people. This unique race allows dogs and their owners to celebrate physical fitness and outdoor activity together. Don’t have a dog? You’re still welcome to participate! With its lively atmosphere and the joyful barks of four-legged participants, the Bark and Bolt race is an exciting race for everyone.
All races will begin and end in Hendersonville’s Patton Park. The 5K course is a scenic, out and back route that follows the Oklawaha Greenway. There are some moderate hills but the majority of the course is flat. The 1-mile race also follows the Greenway and has one hill just before the finish. It too is on paved surfaces and both courses will have a single water station along the route. The Paw Pursuit 100 Meter Dash is our shortest race for the most well-behaved pups. It’s a quick sprint where dogs run alongside their owners to demonstrate their speed and agility. Dogs will be divided into three weight classes: Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight.

Rhythm and Brews: Big Daddy Love – June 19th

This concerts series brings together live music, a variety of food trucks, and locally crafted beer, wine and cider! These free concerts close part of South Main Street to make room for all the fun, as well as a children’s area with games and activities. Tickets and wristbands, for the purchase of beer, wine and hard cider, will be located at the Downtown Hendersonville tent.

Blue Ridge Community College Music by the Lake Concert – AVL Junction – June 22nd

Asheville Junction – a bluegrass/Americana band from the high country of North Carolina. Blue Ridge Community College’s annual Music by the Lake concert series provides free summer entertainment by the lake on its Flat Rock campus. Enjoy performances from a variety of musical and vocal groups. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic items. All are welcome!
Walking Tour and Wine Tasting at Marked Tree Vineyard – Weekly Fridays-Sundays

Get your steps in with a guided walking tour and tasting! Enjoy a seasonal wine tasting as you stroll through the vines and get an exclusive sneak peek of the new production facility. Learn about the history of Marked Tree and how the vineyard transforms with the changing seasons. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and we’ll provide the open vistas! The tour lasts about 30-45 minutes, a perfect way to start your day! (Weather permitting.)

Bike. Walk. HVL Summer Social Ride – June 26th

Join Bike Walk Hendersonville for our first Summer Social Ride of the season on Thursday, June 26th. These rides are a fun, relaxed way to connect with other cyclists, explore the Ecusta Trail area, and enjoy the evening on two wheels. This is a casual, no-drop ride — all bikes and riders are encouraged. Come hang out, ride a few miles, and be part of our growing biking community in Hendersonville.

Summer Session 10k & 5k – June 28th

This summer we’re kicking off the season at Trailside Brewing at Lennox station with a 10k & 5k! Both courses start in front of Trailside and take runners through beautiful Hendersonville neighborhoods. A beer from Trailside (or nonalcoholic beverage!) is included in race registration. A portion of race proceeds will be donated to the Mills River Partnership.

Blue Ghost Firefly Tours – Varying Dates through Saturday, June 7th

The Blue Ridge Mountains are home to a very unique creature that some say resembles a collection of fairies carrying blue candles through the forest.
The Blue Ghost Firefly (Phausis reticulata) is a secretive, hard-to-find native insect that calls our area home, and for a very short amount of time in late Spring, they inhabit our surrounding woodlands of Transylvania County.
You’ll experience an educational presentation at our outdoor amphitheater starting at 8:45 pm and then use the cover of darkness and special flashlights to go in search of the Blue Ghost fireflies while hiking on a paved trail through the forest.
