Flat Rock Playhouse Presents: The Play That Goes Wrong – Through August 23rd

Find your way to ‘the Rock’ as this award-winning comedy takes center stage. Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where the hapless Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s attempt to stage this 1920’s murder mystery devolves into madcap mayhem. From an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines), the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to survive until their final curtain call.
Jimmy Buffet Music Bingo at Mills River Brewing Co. – August 4th

Little Bellas Brevard Weekly Program – Tuesdays through September 2nd

The Brevard Weekly Program offers recurring, all-girl mountain bike riding sessions on Tuesday nights at the scenic DuPont State Recreational Forest – Guion Farm Access Area. The goal is simple: to get girls outside, exploring new trails, connecting with each other, and growing their love for mountain biking. This program is about adventure, skill-building, and fun, not competition.
Financial assistance is available if needed, and we also have equipment through our Gear Up Program!
SKYLARANNA Resort Artist ReLEAF Concert Series – August 6th

LEAF Global Arts presents Sundown @ Skylaranna, a concert series supporting artists impacted by Hurricane Helene. Held at the scenic Skylaranna Resort, the event features live music, local vendors, food, drinks, and optional spa appointments or pool access. Entry is $10 per person or $25 per car, with all proceeds benefiting LEAF Global Arts and the Artist ReLEAF Fund.
Ride and Ticket to the Tourists Baseball Games – Varying Dates through August 28th

Join as we travel to McCormick Field for a fun fabulous time cheering on our hometown baseball team, The Asheville Tourists. Why hassle with parking when you can leave the driving to us? Park your car at the Hendersonville Welcome Center and take the air conditioned bus to McCormick Field in Asheville. Pick up time is 5pm. Cost is only $35.00 per person for a box seat and transportation.

2025 Waverly Live – Varying dates through September

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join us at the front porch from May through September for live Americana music along with great southern fare and cold beverages. Music is free to enjoy and we will also be selling Waverly Smoked BBQ and beverages to enrich the experience (July 4th’s menu will feature cookout classics). All performances will be 6pm-8pm, except July 4th which will be 1pm-3pm.

Hiking Henderson County: Memminger Trail – July 11th

Henderson County Parks and Recreation is offering guided hiking opportunities. This month is Memminger Trail! Join and we safely explore, learn, and exercise! This is an inclusive program; however, the hikes will vary in difficulty. This is a FREE program, Registration Required.
Trailheads can be difficult to find. At 9am on the day of the community hike, participants will be asked to meet at: 708 S Grove Street Hendersonville, NC 28792
The group will then caravan to the trailhead! During the program we will discuss wildlife, hike etiquette and the use of mobile applications in remote settings. Please note that these programs are subject to weather. Call (828) 845-5780 the day of the hike if you are concerned the hike will be canceled.
Henderson County Tailgate Market – Saturdays through the Spring/Summer

Join us every Saturday, 8am to 12pm for the Henderson County Tailgate Market. We have local, organic and conventional produce, bedding plants, flowers, herbs, baked goods, canned goods for purchase.
We are located at 100 North King Street in Hendersonville in the Henderson County Building parking area (between First and Second Avenue).
NC Writers Network & The Brandy Bar “In the Company of Writers” – August 13th

The program offers a series of personal and conversational dialogues featuring guest writers/poets, followed by an open-mic forum. These inspirational gatherings will both enlighten and entertain those in attendance. The guest author speaks from 7-8 PM with an open mic from 8 -9 PM. Jennifer McGaha is the author of three works of creative nonfiction, including The Joy Document, a collection of fifty essays celebrating midlife, Flat Broke with Two Goats, a 2018 OverDrive Big Library Read, and Bushwhacking: How to Get Lost in the Woods and Write Your Way Out, a Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award finalist. Her work has also appeared in many magazines and literary journals
Asheville Quilt Show – August 14, 15 & 16th

Join on August 14, 15 and 16 at the WNC Ag Center for the Asheville Quilt Show. There will be over 300 quilts on display, vendors, a gift shop, silent auction and quilts for sale. Expert quilters will provide demonstrations and there will be special exhibits. Bring the kids so they can try the craft at the sewing station.
Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for students (age 13-18) and children 12 and under are free.
Rhythm n Brews Concert Series – August 21st

This concerts series brings together live music, a variety of food trucks, and locally crafted beer, wine and cider! These free concerts close part of South Main Street to make room for all the fun, as well as a children’s area with games and activities. Tickets and wristbands, for the purchase of beer, wine and hard cider, will be located at the Downtown Hendersonville tent.
Be Bold Bee Fest – August 23rd

This lively summer event celebrates the sweet things in life with a honey-inspired menu, signature Bees Knees cocktails (gin, honey, lemon juice, lemon twist), and a hive full of fun. Guests can enjoy local honey tastings, browse artisan vendors, play yard games, and enjoy live music from the Showboat Band from 6-9pm
1st Annual Hendersonville Ecusta Trail Craft Beer Run – August 23rd

Hendersonville Run Club and the Blue Ridge Craftbeer Club are co-hosting the 1st Annual Hendersonville Ecusta Trail Craftbeer Run!
Plan to start at Dry Falls Brewing at Noon sharp. We will run (riders welcome too) along the Ecusta Trail with our first beer stop at Trailside Brewing. We will then continue on to our next beer stop at the Guidon Brewing Outpost by Elijah’s Gem Mine. Our third beer stop will be at the 6-mile (halfway point) at Packa’s Place in Horse Shoe. We will hang out there a little while before we head back along the Ecusta Trail towards Hendersonville. Our next stop will be Southern Streams Coffee for a beverage of your choice (beer preferably). Then we take the final leg back to Dry Falls Brewing for food and you guessed it – another beer to wrap things up and celebrate! The course is 12 miles total (6 out and 6 back) and includes 5 local drinking establishments.
10th Annual Art in Bloom – August 29th-31st

We are excited to share with you plans for the 10th Annual Art in Bloom scheduled for Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31, 2025. Opening the weekend-long exhibition is a Preview Reception on Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Guests of the ticketed preview event get a sneak peek at the collaborative floral/art arrangements, experience the floral displays at their freshest, and have the opportunity to meet and chat with the featured floral designers and artists while enjoying a selection of wines, lite bites and charcuterie inside the gallery.

End of Summer Jam Adaptive Mountain Bike Race/Ride – August 29th-September 1st

The 2025 Catalyst Sports End of Summer Jam will take place over Labor Day weekend, centered at Ride Kanuga Bike Park in Hendersonville, NC. The event kicks off on Friday, August 29, with a group ride and hangout at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard. Volunteers arrive at 2:30 PM, followed by adaptive bike fittings and a group ride on the greenway and Pisgah National Forest singletrack from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. The evening concludes with a community gathering and food truck at the brewery (attendees cover their own dining expenses).
On Saturday, August 30, activities shift to Ride Kanuga Bike Park with a full day of volunteer training, skills clinics, and practice runs. The day begins at 8:00 AM with volunteer check-in, followed by multiple morning sessions, including adaptive mountain bike fundamentals and a group ride. A Catalyst cookout with hamburgers and hotdogs is provided at noon. Afternoon ride sessions continue until 4:30 PM, and the racecourse will be open for practice all day. That evening, participants are invited to a meetup and food truck at Trailside Brewing Co. in Hendersonville.
Sunday, August 31, features the Adaptive Super D Race at Kanuga. The day begins with check-in at 8:00 AM, a race meeting at 9:00 AM, and racing from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A pizza party follows, along with awards at 1:00 PM. Afternoon ride sessions continue at Kanuga from 2:00 to 4:30 PM, and an optional Ecusta Trail ride takes place from 3:30 to 6:00 PM (participants must bring their own bikes). The day ends with another casual meetup and food truck at Trailside Brewing Co.
On Monday, September 1, attendees can choose between two options: an adaptive group ride at DuPont State Forest or participation in the Tour d’Apple road ride. The DuPont ride starts with fittings at 9:00 AM and the ride begins at 10:00 AM from Guion Farms. Alternatively, Tour d’Apple offers free entries for Catalyst participants, with ride distances of 25, 45, or 100 miles. The Tour begins early Monday from Blue Ridge Community College, with packet pickup on Sunday afternoon. Post-ride festivities and lunch follow at the college.

Over Labor Day Weekend, August 29 through August 31, the best of bluegrass, Americana, and roots music come together with fans who have a true appreciation for the music, the Earl Scruggs Music Festival returns to Tryon International Equestrian Center for a multi-day celebration of Mr. Scruggs’ incredible contributions and the rich musical culture of the region.
