The Annual Goombay Festival – September 4th – 7th

We’re proud to support the Goombay Festival, a long-standing celebration of Affrilachian, African, and Caribbean heritage in Asheville. For more than 40 years, this vibrant gathering has brought live music, dance, traditional food, and family-friendly fun to The Block—the heart of Asheville’s historic Black business district. From African drumming and gospel to reggae, jazz, and R&B, the performances showcase a rich cultural legacy. Visitors can enjoy Caribbean and Southern cuisine, shop handcrafted goods, and connect with community in one of the city’s most meaningful neighborhoods. The Goombay Festival is free and open to all.
The NC Mountain State Fair – September 5th – 14th

We’re excited to support the NC Mountain State Fair, a beloved tradition where family fun and mountain magic come together. From thrilling rides and award-winning livestock shows to mouthwatering fair food and live entertainment, this event has something for everyone. Whether it’s your first visit or an annual favorite, the NC Mountain State Fair is one of Western North Carolina’s most exciting celebrations—and a great place to make lasting memories.
Live Music at All Day Darling – September 5th – 27th

All Day Darling, a favorite all-day eatery in Asheville’s historic Montford neighborhood, is hosting live music on the patio every Friday and Saturday evening from 6–9pm. Guests can enjoy dinner, drinks, and good vibes while local musicians set the tone for the weekend.
Their rotating dinner menu features crave-worthy dishes like the Thunderbird fried-chicken sandwich with Harissa aioli, the Darling Burger with chop-shop beef, hearty salads and bowls, and seasonal specials—all in a warm, laid-back atmosphere. Admission is free, with no tickets or reservations required.
North Asheville Tailgate Market’s 2025 Main Season – September 6th – November 22nd

Since 1980, the North Asheville Tailgate Market has been a Saturday tradition, bringing the community together on UNC Asheville’s campus from 8am–12pm. Visitors can shop a wide selection of local, sustainably produced goods—from fresh produce, meats, and cheeses to breads, honey, plants, prepared foods, and crafts.
With over 120 vendors on the roster and 70+ featured each week, it’s no surprise this market has been voted the #1 Farmers Market in WNC for 14 years in a row. Ooh La La Curiosity Market – September 6th – October 25th

Ooh La La Curiosity Market brings together local artists, makers, and musicians for a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in Downtown Asheville. Happening on select Saturdays throughout the year from 10am–4pm, this intimate umbrella market also gives back—each event raises funds for Animal Haven, a no-kill sanctuary in East Asheville. Visitors can shop unique Asheville souvenirs, enjoy live music from three different local performers, and take part in a raffle featuring vendor-donated items, with proceeds supporting the sanctuary.
Oktoberfest at The Funk with Lagerhosen – September 6th – October 11th

The Funkatorium is bringing Bavarian vibes to Asheville with two full months of Oktoberfest, running September through October. Every weekend from 2–5pm, enjoy rotating live music, German-style beer specials, and festive food offerings. Guests can sip steins, snack on pretzels, and soak up the polka-inspired fun while the bands keep the energy high. Prost to the season!
Jazz Jam Sundays at Ginger’s Revenge – September 7th – December 28th

Jazz Sunday at Ginger’s Revenge features a weekly jazz jam with Jason DeCristofaro in the Tasting Room. Every Sunday from 2:30–4:30pm, musicians are invited to bring their instruments and join the fun, or guests can stop by to enjoy the creativity of talented local performers.
Midweek Rebalancing Serenity Sound Bath – September 10th

Find your calm midweek with Humpday Harmony and a soothing Sound Bath hosted by Kristin Hillegas. This one-hour Serenity Sound Bath offers a deeply immersive, full-body vibrational experience designed to cleanse the soul, restore balance, and promote healing.
The session takes place upstairs in the Education Building, with doors opening at 6:15pm and closing promptly at 6:30pm. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, pillow, or blanket and wear warm, comfortable, flexible clothing.
RAD Resilience – September 13th

Marking one year since Hurricane Helene, RAD Resilience is a community-wide art event in Asheville’s River Arts District focused on healing, creativity, and collective strength. Visitors can explore and purchase works from over 350 local artists, including 100 displaced artists featured at the RAD Art Market. Many pieces reflect responses to the storm and the pressing realities of climate change.
The day also features live music, food trucks, artist talks, and a large-scale interactive art project spanning the district. In connection with A Tale of Two Cities, a parallel exhibition opening the same day in New Orleans, RAD Resilience highlights the vital role artists play in rebuilding, remembering, and reimagining the future.
Vinyl Day, Hosted by The Whale Outpost – September 13th

Spend your Saturday afternoon with DJ Chris Felinski as he spins a selection of tasty tunes from 3–4pm. Browse and shop records with Records in the RAD, and take part in the regular record exchange—bring a record and swap it for something new! It’s a great way to enjoy music, discover hidden gems, and connect with fellow vinyl enthusiasts.
Monthly Sound Bath Healing with Asheville Wellness Tours – September 19th

Experience an evening of deep rest and renewal at HapBE Valley with special guest Kennedy Oneself. From 7–8:30pm, settle into the stillness of nature and the calming presence of the herd while being guided through a restorative sound journey featuring crystal bowls, gongs, handpans, and more. Surrounded by open sky and rolling land, these gatherings offer a chance to soften, listen inward, and reconnect—with yourself, the earth, and the quiet rhythm of the season.
Asheville Symphony Masterworks – September 20th

Celebrate the start of the Asheville Symphony’s 25–26 season with their first Masterworks concert. This Hurricane Helene anniversary program highlights the resilience of the community through music. Attendees can experience Beethoven’s Third Piano Concerto with piano legend Emanuel Ax, Beethoven’s “Heroic” Symphony, and a stirring new commission by Asheville Symphony musician Amber Ferenz honoring the heroes who guided the community through challenging times.
Black Mountain Blues Festival – September 26th – 28th

Experience the 2nd annual Black Mountain Blues Festival in downtown Black Mountain, NC, from 4–9pm. Enjoy live music across multiple venues, take part in open blues jams, and explore panel discussions and educational opportunities. The festival offers a chance to immerse yourself in the rich culture of blues while connecting with the community through music.
