For 20 years, Deborah Betts had a successful career with Hewlett Packard in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was in sales, change management, and marketing. After going on a mission trip to Romania to serve in an orphanage, Deborah felt called to adopt, so her direction in life changed completely. After a very long process, Deborah was blessed to become a mom to a son and a daughter the following year. She went from a full-time career to a stay-at-home mom of two babies! They are now in their teens.
Being home inspired Deborah to pursue her passion for interior design, something she had taken classes in during her career with HP. Deborah first opened a small decorating company in California, specializing in custom window treatments, upholstery, and color selection. When her children were just two years old, she moved her family to Georgia so her parents could be more involved in their lives. Deborah then went to work with a company assisting homeowners in selecting custom-fabricated countertops for their kitchens and bathrooms in granite, marble, and quartz. Shortly after, Deborah and her sister started a home remodeling company where their favorite project was the complete renovation of an 1860s Victorian they purchased that had fallen into disrepair. They not only managed contractors but also took on parts of the labor ourselves. During that time, Deborah decided that when the kids were more self-reliant, she would pursue a career in real estate!
In 2017, Deborah and her children moved to Pisgah Forest after her parents passed away. She had wanted to live in the mountains her entire life, so this was a dream come true. Deborah’s sister and her sister’s husband moved here as well, so they are six short minutes from each other. Deborah is enamored with western North Carolina and is now a broker with what she considers the finest real estate company in our area due to their progressive marketing techniques and commitment to their customers, whether buying or selling.
Deborah’s Scottish grandmother used to say, “the only thing constant in life is change.” Deborah believes this describes where we are with the real estate market today. Internet availability and social media have become essential and valuable tools for any successful home marketing strategy. Her extensive sales and marketing background coupled with her experience in home remodeling and design allows her to fully embrace this new approach. This fast-paced advertising strategy enables Deborah to come alongside her clients better equipped to locate, select, and help visualize what can become their dream home. So whether you are looking to buy or sell a house or land, Deborah would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and make the process smooth and enjoyable!
