The City of Hendersonville was incorporated in 1847 and encompasses 7.6 square miles with an average elevation of 2,200 feet. The city is home to approximately 16,115 people as of 2020 and is only 22 miles south of Asheville and 40 miles north of Spartanburg.

Nicknamed “The Friendliest City in America”, the Historic downtown district of Hendersonville is jam-packed with places to eat, drink, shop, and learn! Visit any of the 25+ restaurants and bars along Main Street and take in the meticulously preserved architecture from the mid-1940s and 1950s. You may also notice as you stroll down the sidewalk that Hendersonville is very dog-friendly! Many shops on the main stretch offer water and treats for your wonderful furry friends.
Keep your eyes peeled for the colorful painted bear statues sprinkled around town; as part of the annual “Bearfootin’ Bears” art exhibit, each bear is decorated in its own special way and then auctioned off to individuals and businesses alike.
