Things To Do in Transylvania County, North Carolina

Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls…

Transylvania County is home to over 200 waterfalls. Although some are on private land and are not open to the public, there are several public and easily accessible ones, whether it’s a roadside waterfall or one that will make you work to get the ultimate view. Check out the waterfall guide here for more information on the top waterfalls near Brevard.

Looking for an easy stop? Hop out of your car for a short walk along U.S. Highway 276 to see Looking Glass Falls, a 60-foot waterfall. Looking for a mild hike? Head on over to DuPont State Forest for a 4.5-mile loop to hit three waterfalls- Hooker Falls, High Falls, and Triple Falls. If you’re up for an extra adventure, venture over to Sliding Rock, a natural water slide and a popular destination for tourists and locals.

As always, use caution and Be Waterfall Wse while viewing or hiking to waterfalls.
