Brevard Plein Air Festival – September 9-14

Join us for the Brevard Plein Air Festival which is an open-enrollment plein air painting event that concludes with a Wet Paint Show & Sale on Saturday, September 14th. It is held in conjunction with a downtown street festival featuring fine art vendors, local makers, food vendors, and more! The event celebrates the tradition of outdoor painting by welcoming artists from across the region to share their talents and the beauty of downtown Brevard and the surrounding areas.

Mountain Song Festival- September 6 & 7, 2024

Mountain Song Festival was created to bring the best in acoustic music including bluegrass, newgrass, old-time, folk, jazz, and traditional mountain music, as well as the many branches that stem from it, to our community and to further encourage music in our everyday lives. Mountain Song strives to promote cultural tourism and environmental awareness for a positive impact on our community while utilizing the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, NC, as a world-class venue.

Mountain Song Festival was inspired by our youth and was developed to help fund the Cindy Platt Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County.

Transylvania Farmers Market- Weekly on Saturdays

The Transylvania Farmers Market is a local favorite in Downtown Brevard. Held every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM (10 AM November through April) at 200 East Main Street. Browse several local vendors for handmade and baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, live music, and more! Check out the vendor schedule here.

Fall Concert Series – Fridays at 7 PM

The Fall Concert Series is held annually at the Transylvania County Library amphitheater at 212 S Gaston Street in Brevard. Check out The Moon and You on Friday, September 13th at 7:00 PM.

Mountain Legacies: Exploring Appalachian Culture

Join the Transylvania Heritage Museum every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 3 PM to learn more about Appalachian Culture. They are located at 189 West Main Street in Brevard and the exhibit will run through October 21st.

Paddle to the Pork Music Festival – Saturday, September 21, 2024

Stop by Headwaters Campground at 1017 Green Road in Brevard for the Paddle to the Pork event! Enjoy live music, local vendors, food, drinks and more! The event takes place from 2 PM – 7 PM. Get there early and Headwaters staff will drive you to the put-in where you can paddle an 8-mile stretch on the French Broad River and paddle right to the festival!

Brevard Music Center
