Light Up The Night and Christmas Parade – Saturday, December 7th from 12 PM to 7 PM
Light Up the Night each holiday season in downtown Brevard! This event includes the official tree-lighting ceremony on the Courthouse lawn, with caroling, a festival market for holiday craft shopping, an ice skating rink, a Tuba Christmas concert, and shopping with our stellar local merchants.
At this event, visitors immerse themselves in a full day of holiday events and family fun, culminating in an evening of wonder with our twinkling lights, illuminated snowflakes, decorated storefronts, and the lighting of downtown’s 70′ Christmas Tree.
Shop the Merry Market at Noon, and see the Christmas Parade at 2:30. Light Up the Night tree-lighting ceremony follows the parade.
This event features live music, food trucks, shopping, and festivities for the entire family.
Mistletoe Market and Family Fun Day – Sunday, December 8th from 12 PM to 5 PM at Rosman Town Hall
The Mistletoe Market Market & Family Fun Day showcasing 30+ local artisans. The family event has something for all ages including inflatables, axe throwing, llamas, and chainsaw carving demonstrations just to name a few. The event is completely FREE to attend and play for the entire community.
Food will be available along with handcrafted hot and cold beverages.
Holiday Windows Competition – November 29 through December 31
Downtown businesses in the Heart of Brevard decorate their windows with spectacular, eye-popping displays for all to enjoy. The holiday window competition showcases festive and fun windows, mirroring the Chamber’s annual Christmas parade theme. This year’s theme is “Holidays: Past, Present and Future”. A panel of celebrity judges votes on the windows for winners in five categories. Visitors to downtown can also vote for their favorite window to win the People’s Choice Award.
Holiday Open House – Thursday, December 5th from 10 AM – 5 PM
Duckpond Pottery, Lizard’s Rock, and Mud Dabber’s Pottery of Brevard will have refreshments, entertainment, and great hand-crafted gifts for sale. Come out and celebrate the season and support local artists! All stores are located along Greenville Highway.
Mountain Music Jam at Cathey’s Creek Community Center – Thursdays from 7 PM to 9 PM
This weekly event is hosted at the Cathey’s Creek Community Center at 131 Island Fors Road in Brevard. All are welcome so bring your acoustic instruments and dancing shoes for an evening of mountain music!
Outdoor Bluegrass Jam and Community Potluck – Saturdays from 2 PM to 4 PM
From the Cedar Mountain Canteen: This jam will cater to musicians who love Bluegrass music, in its traditional and non-trad styles. We will focus on songs that feature vocal melodies, harmonies and instrumental breaks. Typical instrumentation includes guitars, banjos, mandolins, resophonic guitars (Dobros), fiddles, and a bass, but we welcome other instruments like the dulcimer, ukulele, harmonica and autoharp, too. *This is a ZERO WASTE event, so bring what you need from home!*

Wild Souls Authentic Movement Class with Reneee Trudeau – Sundays from 9:30 AM to 11 AM
Join a supportive, relaxed, welcoming environment for an expressive movement class designed to help you get unstuck, enjoy cardio movement, boost immune health, dissolve anxiety/stress, and celebrate community. Show up 10 minutes early, and bring your yoga mat, water bottle, and journal! The class is located at the Dunns Rock Community Center at 461 Connestee Road in Brevard. Transylvania Farmers Market- Weekly on Saturdays
The Transylvania Farmers Market is a local favorite in Downtown Brevard. Held every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM (10 AM December through April) at 200 East Main Street. Transylvania Heritage Museum
Join the Transylvania Heritage Museum every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 3 PM for their Mountain Legacies: Exploring Appalachian Culture event. The museum is located at 189 West Main Street in Brevard and is open every Thursday through Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
ATOM Aluminum Tree Exhibit is a new exhibit, running from November 9 through January 17. Make plans to come out and enjoy the wonderful exhibit of vintage aluminum trees and support The Transylvania Heritage Museum. Step back in time and experience the heyday of aluminum trees as this year we are featuring the 1960’s, The Beatles, and a special exhibit of the Satin ornaments created by Rauch Industries of Gastonia, NC! They will also have the “Shiny Brite Forest” with over 400 vintage Shiny Brites.
Brevard Music Center
