Western North Carolina is rich with mountains, magic, and stories, often with happy endings like the story of a young man, fresh out of college, who followed a young lady here and fell in love with this place and these mountains. He spent his young adulthood working summer camp, mountain biking, camping, and discovering new sides of himself through a connection to the outside world.
As an elementary school librarian and teacher, Kevin has been part of the Saluda community since “the nineteen hundreds” (which brings wide eyes to second graders). He loves this charming community and is deeply grateful to have found his true home among warm, friendly, interesting people. He directs the Coon Dog Day 5k, serves on the board of the Polk County Community Foundation, and volunteers with Polk County Schools and other local organizations. Thirty years in education has taught Kevin that there is nothing more noble or fulfilling than forming relationships and an ability to understand and meet the needs of others.
Kevin has a gift for personal attention, listening, and helping to clarify and meet the needs of people. He is committed to providing exemplary customer service with competence, honesty, and integrity which many find reassuring throughout the process. He finds it gratifying to connect with and guide people through the exciting and often intimidating process of buying or selling a home.
In the current chapter of Kevin’s story, that young lady is now his wife of 30+ years and the other half of the Burnett team. A lifelong learner, avid reader, coffee geek, runner, bicyclist, and motorcycle tourist, Kevin can be found most often in Saluda walking his slightly irregular dog, Chewy. He would love to welcome you to this enchanted place and help you find the happy ending to your story.
