
Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls…
Transylvania County is home to over 200 waterfalls. Although some are on private land and are not open to the public, there are several public and easily accessible ones, whether it’s a roadside waterfall or one that will make you work to get the ultimate view. Check out the waterfall guide here for more information on the top waterfalls near Brevard.
Looking for an easy stop? Hop out of your car for a short walk along U.S. Highway 276 to see Looking Glass Falls, a 60-foot waterfall. Looking for a mild hike? Head on over to DuPont State Forest for a 4.5-mile loop to hit three waterfalls- Hooker Falls, High Falls, and Triple Falls. If you’re up for an extra adventure, venture over to Sliding Rock, a natural water slide and a popular destination for tourists and locals.

After a long day hiking in the forest or paddling the river, you must stop at Dolly’s Dairy Bar, located at the entrance of Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy a milkshake, or sundae, or choose from several ice cream flavors with a classic cone. Each flavor of ice cream pays homage to the abundant summer camps located throughout Brevard.
Craft beer, burgers, or tacos? Oskar Blues Brewery and Ecusta Brewery offer delicious brews and food, with in-house options, staple food trucks, and live music.
Downtown Brevard

Stroll through Downtown Brevard for shopping, art galleries, dining, and more. Now a Social District, those who are 21 and older can enjoy a beverage while continuing their search for the perfect souvenir (where applicable). Swing by D.D. Bullwinkles for all of your outdoor adventure goods, have a relaxing dinner at Square Root or Falls Landing, or search for gems at the Crystal Mountain Gem Mine right in town. Transylvania Heritage Museum

Interested in learning more about Transylvania County and Brevard, North Carolina? Be sure to stop by the Transylvania Heritage Museum, located at 189 W Main Street. Transylvania Famers Market- Weekly on Saturdays
The Transylvania Farmers Market is a local favorite in Downtown Brevard. Held every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM (10 AM November through April) at 200 East Main Street.
