The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway is just half an hour’s drive from downtown Brevard. Adventures along the way in Pisgah National Forest include a stop at the Cradle of Forestry heritage site, feeding the trout at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife, or stargazing at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute. The French Broad river weaves through the valley below the mountains, providing even more opportunities to experience this unique part of the world. Itineraries on the French Broad Paddle Trail range from a few hours to multi-day excursions.
