If you’re a new resident of Transylvania, Henderson or Buncombe counties, we’re here to help you navigate setting up utilities in your new home! Below, find county-specific information on how to connect power, water and more.

Transylvania County

Electricity:

Natural Gas:

Internet, Cable and Television:

Comporium: Provides internet, television, phone and security services for residential and commercial customers https://www.comporium.com

AT&T: Provides internet and DirectTV services https://www.att.com/stores/north-carolina/brevard/180374

Dish Network TV: Provides satellite television services https://www.dish.com

Water, Sewer and Sanitation:

City of Brevard:

Brevard Public Works provides utility services including water, sewer and sanitation. The sanitation division provides collection of garbage, mixed recycling and brush and yard debris. The city also provides special collections for bulk items such as appliances and furniture. Trash collection is weekly and recyclable collection is bi-weekly.

Town of Rosman:

If you live in Rosman, contact the Rosman city hall for water, sewer and garbage collection services https://www.transylvaniacounty.org/town-of-rosman

Greater Transylvania County:

If you are not connected to a municipal water and sewer system, the Transylvania County department of environmental health will be your contact for septic and well permitting https://transylvaniahealth.org/environment/

Solid Waste Information:

Transylvania County has one landfill and three collection centers.

Propane Tanks, Fuel and Appliances:

Freeman Gas: One of the oldest and largest home propane suppliers in the Southeast. In addition to selling and leasing propane tanks, Freeman supplies hot water heaters, gas fireplaces and other appliances https://www.freemangas.com

Water, Sewer and Sanitation:

City of Hendersonville:

Hendersonville Public Works provides utility services including water, sewer and sanitation. The sanitation division provides collection of garbage, recycling and brush and yard debris. The city also provides special collections for bulk items such as appliances and furniture. Trash and recyclable collection is weekly.

Cane Creek:

If you live within the Cane Creek water and sewer district, it has been consolidated with the Metropolitan Sewerage District of Buncombe (MSD). Visit the MSD website for more information http://msdbc.org

Greater Henderson County:

If you are not connected to a municipal water and sewer system, the Henderson County department of environmental health will be your contact for septic and well permitting https://www.hendersoncountync.gov/health/page/environmental-health

Solid Waste Information:

Henderson County provides one transfer station for waste disposal, and one convenience center for recyclables.
