Things to do around Brevard

Whether you’re looking for trails for horseback riding, a heart-pounding climb to the ridge top, or just a nice walk in the woods among the native laurels and evergreens, you are sure to find it here.

 Over a third of the land in Transylvania County is dedicated to State and National Parks including the Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, and Gorges State Park. Our mountain streams and rivers also offer up some of the country’s best and most scenic fly fishing. The French Broad River, Davidson River, East Fork French Broad and West Fork French Broad are just a few of the spots that have fishing fans from across the country hooked on this area.

The Brevard area also enjoys a rich arts and entertainment community which includes the famed Brevard Music Center that plays host to some of the world’s finest young musicians during its annual summer concert season. Year-round you’ll find a wide range of performances at the Porter Center on the campus of Brevard College as well as some of the best music festivals in the southeast including the White Squirrel Festival and the Mountain Song Festival.

Perhaps it is the natural beauty of the mountains, but artists in all media call this area home and you can discover the works of renowned as well as emerging artists featured in the 11 art galleries around town.

With the vast array of outdoor activities, entertainment options, shopping, sightseeing, and dining out, there are plenty of things to do here. It’s all good.
